Sources, translations & corrections
Arabic is the original text. English meanings use the stored Muhammad Asad edition from Al Quran Cloud, unless another edition is selected. Transliteration is a pronunciation aid.
Interface translation does not change the supplied scripture or reading layers. Source details for a selected edition appear in the reader.
About the Quran reader
Can I read the Quran online without signing up?
Yes. Open a surah from the Quran list to read without an account or contact form. Choose Arabic, English or Combined, and use the audio player when you want to listen.
What is the difference between translation and transliteration?
Translation expresses the meaning in another language. Transliteration writes the sounds of Arabic using another alphabet. On United Islam, the English view shows translated meanings; the Transliteration view is a separate reading aid.
Which English Quran translation does United Islam use?
The site importer uses the Muhammad Asad English translation through Al Quran Cloud. The sources and corrections page explains this import source. The English translation is displayed separately from the Arabic text.
Can I listen to a surah while reading?
Yes. Open a surah, select a reciter and use Play Surah or the play button beside a verse. Audio requires an internet connection. If a recording is unavailable, try another reciter.
