How to read Quran online with English translation and audio
You can start reading on United Islam without an account. Choose a surah, decide which text you want to see, and listen when you want to follow the recitation. This guide explains the reader's controls and the difference between its reading aids.
Choose a surah and start reading
1. Find the surah you want to read
Open the Quran collection and search by surah name or number. You can browse the list or filter it by place of revelation. Open a surah to see the available verses and reading controls.
2. Choose Arabic, English or Combined
The Arabic view shows the original text. English shows translated meanings. Combined keeps the available Arabic, transliteration and English together. You can change the view as you read.
The importer uses the Muhammad Asad English translation through Al Quran Cloud. Translation is an interpretation of meaning in another language; it should be identified separately from the Arabic. Read about our text and translation sources.
3. Use transliteration as a reading aid
Transliteration represents Arabic sounds using Latin letters. It is different from an English translation and cannot show every detail of Arabic pronunciation. If you are learning to recite, use audio alongside the text and seek feedback from a teacher when you need help.
Some transliteration is requested from an external provider. If it does not load, you can still use the stored Arabic and English views.
4. Listen to the recitation
Choose a reciter from the selector, then use Play Surah. You can also open Verse tools below a passage and use its play button. Audio needs an internet connection; if a recording is unavailable, try a different reciter.
5. Read with context and check the source
Keep track of the surah and verse number when sharing a passage or asking a question. Read the surrounding verses and distinguish the source text from a translation or explanation. For a personal religious ruling, take the question and its context to a qualified scholar.
If a passage, translation or reference looks wrong, send the team a correction with the page address and a reliable source. Clear references help the team investigate.
