Learning about Islam: a beginner reading path

New to the Quran or exploring Islam? Start with a small passage, keep its source in view and take questions to someone qualified to explain them.

A practical starting path

  1. Understand the Quran reader: find Arabic, the named English edition and recitation controls.
  2. Choose a surah to read. Use the surrounding verses when considering a passage.
  3. Check hadith references. Distinguish the reported text, translated meaning and an editor’s explanation.
  4. Check responsibility and review information. A confident claim is not proof of a qualification.
  5. Request learning support if you want follow-up. Availability is not guaranteed, and reading needs no signup.
